Marketing operations & strategy
They've tried delegating it — to a junior hire who needed constant direction, to a VA who needed step-by-step instructions, to a coach who handed them a strategy and left them to figure out the rest. None of it moved the needle without more work from them.
I work differently. I come in, assess what needs to happen, and do it. The strategy, the systems, the execution. You tell me where you want to go. I handle how we get there.
My name is Rachel Barbic. I've been doing this for 13 years across B2B companies, independent businesses, and online brands. If you need someone to own your marketing — not manage a task list for you — I might be exactly who you're looking for.
Who I work with
Three situations I know well. The details vary. The core problem is usually the same: marketing is either not happening, not working, or falling entirely on the person who should be doing something else.
You're too small for an agency and too busy to manage another hire. Marketing keeps getting pushed to whoever has a spare hour.
I function as your embedded marketing lead — strategy, execution, and accountability included.
You have people, but there's a layer of technical or strategic marketing work that nobody on the team is equipped to handle.
I fill that gap without adding management overhead. Your team keeps doing what they're good at.
You've built something real and you're ready to grow — but you need more than a coach or a VA. You need someone who thinks and does.
I bring both. Strategic clarity and the operational follow-through to actually make it happen.
What working with me looks like
I manage websites, email marketing, marketing automation, content calendars, campaign execution, analytics, and the technology that holds it all together.
I've worked inside Ontraport, HubSpot, and other platforms, built and managed virtual teams, run six-figure product launches, and handled the full marketing function for B2B companies in financial services and industrial sectors.
I work on retainer for ongoing engagements and take on project-based work when the scope is a good fit. Either way, I'm not someone you have to check up on.
What clients say
"Rachel has been instrumental in planning, developing, and executing our digital marketing campaigns. Her ability to configure and manage marketing automation workflows has directly contributed to stronger audience engagement and more efficient campaign delivery. She is highly reliable, proactive, and a genuine pleasure to collaborate with."
Erika Etlen — Managing Director, Head of Marketing, Infinite Equity
"Rachel took key elements of our marketing completely off our hands at a point when we just didn't have the bandwidth to give it the attention it needed. She manages our website, social media, email marketing, and tradeshow support — and she does it without us having to micromanage the details. We tell her what we're working toward and she figures out the rest. It's been exactly the kind of support we needed."
Aimee Quemuel — Vice President of Marketing & Operations, XL Lifts
"She is honest, capable and reliable. She doesn't hesitate to make suggestions when she sees potential for improvements in the business. I trust Rachel with confidential material for our firm and have found her to be highly capable and trustworthy."
Tom Ramsay — President, Rock Medical Orthopedic Consultants
Let's talk
Tell me a little about your business and what you're trying to get done. I'll let you know quickly whether I think I can help.
Not in budget but think we'd be a good fit? Reach out anyway. I occasionally take on work I'm genuinely excited about, and if I'm not the right person, I usually know someone who is.
